Box Score SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University's run towards a title fell just short, falling to Huntington University 2-1 in the Crossroads League Tournament Championship on Saturday night at the Cougar Soccer Complex.
The top-seeded Cougars struck first, but the sixth-seeded Foresters responded with two unanswered goals to earn their first league championship and an automatic bid to the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor was making its third straight appearance in the Crossroads League Tournament Championship match.
- The Cougars drew first blood with a goal from Roderic Green in the 14th minute.
- Huntington answered almost immediately as Ben Arnold cleaned up a loose ball in front of the SAU goal to even the score in the 17th minute. The Foresters added the go-ahead goal in the 31st minute.
- Spring Arbor searched desperately for an equalizer in the second half, outshooting the visitors 9-0 over the final 45 minutes. The Cougars generated a couple chances in the closing moments, but would see a pair of shots hit the post and HU's defense make a multiple goal line stops.
- Goalkeeper Michael White made three saves on the night.
- Spring Arbor outshot Huntington 18-9 and held a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
