SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 11 ranked Spring Arbor University men's soccer team dominated possession and posted two first half goals to take care of business against No. 18 Olivet Nazarene University, 2-0, in the NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Opening Round on Saturday.

For the second time in three years, the Cougars advance to the second round of the national tournament and move on to the final site in Irvine, California.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Spring Arbor looked to avenge an early season loss to Olivet Nazarene in the opening round of the national tournament.
• The Cougars took control from the opening whistle, generating a scoring chance just over two minutes into the match, but an outstanding save from ONU's goalkeeper kept SAU off the scoreboard.
• Spring Arbor was back on the attack less than two minutes later and, this time, did not miss as Roderic Green ripped a shot from the left side of the box to the far post past the netminder to put SAU on top.
• Janum Sailor doubled the lead in the 29th minute. Jacob Crull, the Crossroads League Player of the Year, delivered a cross into the box and Sailor crashed the goal, getting just enough of the ball to push it across the goal line.
• Spring Arbor finished the night with 16 shots while holding Olivet Nazarene to eight. The Cougars also held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
