UPLAND, Ind. – The No. 23 ranked Spring Arbor University men's basketball team saw its nine-game winning streak snapped on Saturday with a 73-67 loss to Taylor University in a Crossroads League contest inside Odle Arena.
The Cougars' nine-game winning streak was tied for the longest streak in program history matching the team's run during the 2005-06 campaign and twice during the 1996-97 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor led 5-4 through the first four minutes, but following the first media timeout, Taylor erupted with 11 straight points to open up a double-digit lead.
- TU's Ryan Robinson led the home team throughout a strong first half as he scored 15 of his 21 points during the first 20 minutes to help give Taylor a 40-30 lead heading into halftime.
- After trailing by as many as 13, the Cougars closed the gap to five, 65-60, with a minute to play. However, Taylor made enough free throws down the stretch to hold off the SAU rally.
FOR THE COUGARS
- Brandon Durnell had a career-high 26 points and hauled in 11 rebounds to record his second double-double of the season.
- Paul Marandet also scored in double figures, finishing with 17 points while dishing out eight assists.
- Spring Arbor had its worst shooting game of the season at 38 percent (25-for-66) while going just 4-for-24 from three-point range.
FOR THE TROJANS
- Robinson led Taylor with 21 points and Mason Degenkolb posted 16.
- Taylor's bench scored 22 points.
- The Trojans shot 48 percent (25-for-52) on the afternoon.
