SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women's basketball team held its own for a half against one of the top teams in the country, but a big third quarter run propelled No. 21 Indiana Wesleyan University to a 77-46 victory over the Cougars in Crossroads League action on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor led 11-10 midway through the first quarter until 12 unanswered points put Indiana Wesleyan in front.
- IWU increased its lead to 13 early in the second period, but the Cougars clawed back and closed the gap to six, 34-28, following a three-pointer from Gracie Cabana at the 4:09 mark. The Wildcats responded again, however, and would grab a 42-30 advantage at halftime.
- The No. 21 ranked Wildcats outscored SAU 20-4 in the third quarter on the way to their fifth straight win.
FOR THE COUGARS
- Cierra Lipps scored a team-high 11 points. Rachel Nelson finished with nine and Cabana added eight.
- Gabby Barnett posted seven points, four rebounds and two blocks while Grace Shoobridge also hauled in four boards.
- Spring Arbor shot 32 percent (15-for-47) from the field and was 10-for-12 from the free throw line.
FOR THE WILDCATS
- Margot Woughter led Indiana Wesleyan with 16 points and five assists. Three other Wildcats finished with 10 points, including Elaina Ededuwa, who had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
- Indiana Wesleyan shot 42 percent (28-for-67) on the afternoon.
- The Wildcats had 23 second-chance points off 24 offensive rebounds.
UP NEXT
Spring Arbor will head south to take on Keiser University (5-7) in West Palm Beach, Florida on Monday, Dec. 17 and St. Thomas University (7-4) in Miami Gardens on Tuesday, Dec. 18.
