SPRING ARBOR, Mich. - After suffering a couple close losses last week, the No. 22 ranked Spring Arbor University men's basketball team came away with a dominant 95-72 win over Goshen College on Tuesday night.
In his final game at Bockwitz Court, senior Zach Medendorp poured in a game-high 22 points to lead the Cougars while sophomore Jeff Beckman registered his seventh double-double of the campaign with a career-high 20 points and 11 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor started off strong with baskets from Drew Zuidema, Tommy Hamilton, and Beckman. The Cougars made eight of their first 11 field goal attempts, including a pair of three-pointers from Hamilton, to go up 19-7 at the 13:39 mark. Spring Arbor led by as many as 18 in the first half and took a 41-26 lead into halftime.
- At the start of the second half, Goshen closed the gap to 11, 45-34, at the 17:26 mark, but Medendorp retaliated with a huge dunk to stunt the Maple Leaf's momentum.
- Hamilton and AJ Crawford followed with a pair of buckets to increase the lead to 53-35 and the visitors would not threaten again.
- Connor Cottingham closed out the game with a mid-range jumper before burying a three from the top of the arc.
- The matchup also included a family reunion between SAU freshman Ben Geschke, who dished out two assists, and his brother, Maple Leaf senior Billy Geschke, who had 12 points.
FOR THE COUGARS
- The Cougars could not be stopped on offense, shooting 57 percent (36-for-63) from the field, including going 10-for-20 from long range.
- Four players scored in double-digits. Mendendorp recorded 22 points, eight rebounds and two blocks while Beckman recorded his seventh double-double of the season, scoring 20 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Hamilton scored 19 points and dished out eight assists while Zuidema had 11 points and recorded six assists.
- The win was the 20th of the season for SAU, marking the first 20-win season for the Cougars since 2012-13.
FOR THE MAPLE LEAFS
- Alhassan Barrie led the Maple Leafs with 20 points while Billy Geschke and Devin Heath-Granger recorded 12 points.
- Goshen was limited to 40 percent (24-for-60) from the field, and just 6-for-20 from behind the arc. The Maple Leafs shot 90 percent from the free throw line going 18-for-20.
