HOW IT HAPPENED
- The contest was a pitcher's duel, highlighted by Kelsey Brown and Taylor's Lauren Kanai. Brown was outstanding, silencing one of the league's best offensive team for nine complete innings.
- Spring Arbor got off to a promising start, loading the bases with only one out in the first inning. However, the Cougars were unable to push any runs across.
- Taylor was not able to get a runner past second base until the seventh inning. The Trojans moved runners to second and third in the seventh with only one out, but Brown pitched her way around the trouble and escaped with no damage done.
- Two innings later, TU loaded the bases, but Brown would, again, work her way out of the jam.
- In the 10th, the Trojans were able to plate the game's lone run off an RBI single by Davis Carter.
- Hope Longenbarger collected two of SAU's five hits, including a double.
- Brown pitched all 10 innings allowing just one run while scattering 12 hits. She also struck out eight batters.
