MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – Rachel Nelson posted a double-double and Anne Marie Wright tallied 13 points, but it would not be enough as the Spring Arbor University women's basketball team fell on the road at Mount Vernon Nazarene University 54-45 on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor led throughout most of the first quarter and carried that momentum into the second. The Cougars opened the second period on a 6-0 run to push the margin to seven – their largest lead of the night.
- Mount Vernon Nazarene clawed its way back over the final eight minutes of the half to even the score, 24-24, heading into halftime.
- Following a back-and-forth third quarter, MVNU took a two-point lead into the final period.
- Spring Arbor struggled to find its shooting touch in the fourth quarter – going 2-for-13 from the field – and the hosts would capitalize. MVNU scored the first six points, and eventually extended the lead to 10, on the way to the victory.
FOR SPRING ARBOR
- Wright had a team-high 13 points with three steals. Nelson finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.
- Gracie Cabana had nine points and four assists while Teona Feldpausch chipped in six points and six rebounds off the bench.
- Spring Arbor finished the night shooting 32 percent (15-for-47) from the field.
FOR MOUNT VERNON NAZARENE
- Mount Vernon Nazarene was led by Taylor Gregory and Elizabeth Fee. Gregory had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds while Fee contributed 16 points.
- MVNU shot 36 percent (21-for-59) on the game. The home team also held a slight edge in rebounds 40-37.
