Box Score SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – It was a Senior Night to remember as the No. 13 ranked Spring Arbor University men's soccer team defeated Grace College 4-2 behind a career-high four goals from senior captain Jacob Crull on Wednesday night at the Cougar Soccer Complex.
Prior to the contest, SAU honored its 2019 seniors. The class featured 12 players, including Addison Clarke, Jacob Crull, Brian D'Ascenzo, Josh Fines, Nate Foddrill, Hunter Gibbons, James Hansen, Easton Mayhew, Jesse Montgomery, Alex Sokalski, Zach Weidman and Nathan Zimmerman.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Crull and the Cougars got to work right away, scoring the first goal 35 seconds into the match. A cross-field pass from Cole Russell found Crull by himself at the edge of the 18-yard box and the senior ripped a shot low to the far post that beat the Grace goalkeeper.
- The Lancers pulled even in the 34th minute with a tally from Marcelo Talamas, who ranks second in the Crossroads League in goals. However, SAU answered less than a minute later when Crull tapped in a cross from Zoltan Suranyi.
- Spring Arbor padded its lead in the opening minutes of the second half. A Lancer foul in the box gave the Cougars a penalty kick and Crull calmly buried his shot for the hat trick.
- Crull was not done yet though, striking again in the 56th minute with an assist from Leutrim Shefkiu.
- Spring Arbor held a 15-13 shot advantage over Grace.
- The reigning Crossroads League Defensive Player of the Week Christopher Banfi made three saves and allowed one goal.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- It was the second straight win for Spring Arbor over Grace. The Cougars are 14-4-1 against the Lancers since 2006.
- Spring Arbor improved to 9-0-1 at home this season.
- Crull's four goals were not only a career-high, but the first multi-goal game of his career. He leads the Crossroads League in points with 34 – 12 goals and 10 assists. His 12 goals rank fourth and his 10 assists are a league-high.

Spring Arbor will wrap up the regular season on the road beginning with a trip to Marian University (6-8-1, 1-5-1 CL) on Saturday, Oct. 19. The final match of the regular season will be at Huntington University (11-3-2, 5-1-1 CL) on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
