HOWELL, Mich. – The No. 4 ranked Spring Arbor University women's soccer team picked up its third straight victory to start the 2019 season with a 4-0 win at Cleary University on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Spring Arbor put three goals in the back of the net in the first half. Rebekah Cotton got the scoring started in the 16th minute and Mackenzie Selvius added to the lead in the 29th minute. Sarah Drury connected with Lexi Ponstein for the third goal in the 35th minute.
- Alyvia Thorne capped the scoring for the Cougars in the 65th minute, finishing a corner kick from Ponstein.
- Spring Arbor collected 25 shots on the night while holding Cleary to three.
- Samantha Tracey and Emily Ponstein combined for the team's third consecutive shutout.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- It was the third straight clean sheet for Spring Arbor to start the season. The Cougars have outscored opponents 14-0 in those three matches.
- Cotton and Selvius each scored their second goals of the season, and are now tied for the team lead in goals with three other players.
- Ponstein picked up her fourth assist of the year, which currently ranks second in the NAIA.

Spring Arbor will welcome Concordia University (1-1-0) to the Cougar Soccer Complex on Monday, Sept. 2. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
