Box Score SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – For the second time in three games, Cole Russell registered a hat trick, this time leading the No. 12 ranked Spring Arbor University men's soccer team past the University of Saint Francis 5-0 during Homecoming on Saturday at the Cougar Soccer Complex.
The win was the fourth straight for the Cougars, and was the seventh shutout of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Russell made it a memorable Homecoming for Spring Arbor, scoring three times to record his second hat trick of the season. Already leading 1-0, Russell registered his first goal of the afternoon just before halftime to double the SAU lead. Then, in the opening moments of the second half, the sophomore forward struck for a pair of goals over a two minutes span to put the game out of reach for Saint Francis.
- Brian D'Ascenzo and Aidan Taylor also scored in the contest while Addison Clarke and Jacob Crull were credited with two assists each.
- Christopher Banfi stopped the only shot he faced to pick up his sixth clean sheet of the season.
- Spring Arbor outshot Saint Francis 16-4.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Spring Arbor picked up its seventh straight win over Saint Francis dating back to the 2013 season.
- Spring Arbor improved its record to 6-0-1 at home this year.
- SAU's seven shutouts are tied for the most in the NAIA.
- Russell's three goals gave him 11 on the season and is now tied for the league-lead. Crull also moved into the league lead in assists and now has eight.
