Cougars defeat No. 11 Bethel in OT, Marandet reaches 2,000 career points

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Spring Arbor University went on the road and was able to slow down the nation's best scoring offense just enough on Tuesday night, defeating No. 11 Bethel University in overtime 76-74.

The Cougars held the Pilots to one of their lowest scoring outputs of the season on the way to earning their third straight win, and second straight over a Top 25 ranked team following the 75-60 victory over No. 6 Mount Vernon Nazarene on Saturday.

Paul Marandet joined an exclusive club while helping lead his team to a crucial Crossroads League win. The senior point guard scored 22 points to surpass 2,000 for his career, becoming just the eighth player in the 57-year history of the program to reach the milestone.
