SPRING ARBOR, Mich. -- The Spring Arbor University men's basketball team picked up an 80-70 win against Olivet College on Monday in its first home matchup since Nov. 4.
Brandon Durnell led all players with 27 points and a season-high 19 rebounds, acquiring his fifth double-double in the first nine games of the campaign.Â
After defeating Adrian on Saturday, the Cougars have won their first two games since they were able to resume their season, improving to 4-5 overall on the season.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor got off to an early first half lead and never looked back. Durnell collected 15 points and was one rebound shy of a double-double at the half. Nate Flannery helped spark the offense with five assists, as the Cougars led 39-30 after 20 minutes.Â
- The Cougars held Comets guard Derrick Johnson scoreless in the first half. Johnson came in as the Comets leading scorer, averaging 26 points per game.Â
- Durnell stayed hot in the second half, but Johnson came out firing for the Comets, as he helped cut the deficit to five points.Â
- Eventually, the Comets made it a three-point game, but the Cougars regained momentum through a well-balanced offensive effort. Along with Durnell, Flannery (12 points), Connor Cottingham (12 points), and Daniel Cluster (10 points) all scored in double-figures.
- Even with heavy pressure from the Comets at the end of the second half, the Cougars offense prevailed, as they finished shooting 48 percent from the field compared to Olivet's 36 percent.
