SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women's soccer team captured the 2021 Crossroads League regular season championship after defeating Bethel University 7-0 Saturday night at the Cougar Soccer Complex.
It is the first conference title for the Cougars since 2018 and the program's ninth in the last 11 years. By claiming the regular season crown, SAU also secured the No. 1 seed and home field advantage throughout the upcoming Crossroads League Tournament.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Melanie Srouji got the scoring started in the 11th minute. Fellow senior Madison Marshall beat her defender along the endline and crossed a ball into the box for Srouji, who slipped a shot past the goalkeeper.
- Shelby Marshall recorded her first career hat trick while Fara Serra scored twice. Becca Mindling capped the scoring with an assist from Rebekah Cotton.
- Spring Arbor finished the match with a 28-3 shot advantage over the Pilots.
- Head coach Jason Crist and his squad finished the regular season on a 14-match winning, and a 14-match shutout streak. The Cougars also became the first team in Crossroads League history to finish the regular season allowing zero goals in conference play.
- Spring Arbor's 14 shutouts are tied for the most in the country.
