SPRING ARBOR, Mich. –
Lexi Ponstein found the back of the net twice to lead No. 4 ranked Spring Arbor University to a 4-0 Homecoming win over Taylor University on Saturday.
It was the ninth straight victory, and ninth straight shutout, for the Cougars, who improved to 9-0-1 overall and 4-0-0 in the Crossroads League.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor extended its winning streak to nine after defeating Taylor on Homecoming Weekend.
- The Cougars scored two goals in a three-minute span in the first half. Madison Marshall opened the scoring with a marker in the 19th minute, and Ponstein recorded her first of the match in the 22nd minute.
- Ponstein struck again in the 61st minute. A cross from Ariana Stoltzfus into the box fell to the feet of Ponstein, and the senior slipped a shot past the Taylor goalkeeper to extend the SAU lead.
- Shelby Marshall capped the scoring in the 75th minute with her second goal of the season.
- SAU goalkeepers Samantha Tracey and Emily Ponstein combined to make four saves and post the team's ninth shutout of the season – tied for the most in the country.
