UPLAND, Ind. – Spring Arbor University's
Sean Cassel turned in a stellar pitching performance in game two of Friday's doubleheader. The southpaw tossed a complete game one-hitter, but the Cougars were unable to get anything going offensively in a 1-0 loss to No. 18 ranked Taylor University.
The Trojans also came away with a win in game one of the twinbill, defeating SAU 7-2.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Taylor, which entered the afternoon with a 16-game home winning streak, took an early lead on a solo home run in the second inning.
- The Trojans added two runs in the third, two in the fourth and another in the fifth to take a 6-0 advantage.
- Landon Raczkowski put Spring Arbor on the board with a solo shot in the seventh inning. The home run was the freshman's team-leading seventh of the season. Vincent Herschberger would also homer in the ninth.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Cassel was nearly unhittable in game two of the doubleheader. The sophomore pitcher held one of the top teams in the country to only one hit – a solo home run in the second inning.
- Taylor's starting pitcher Noah Huseman was equally as good, blanking the Spring Arbor offense over 5.2 innings.
- The Cougars had their chances, standing a pair of runners in the first inning and in the third. In the sixth, SAU had the potential game-tying run at second base, but was unable to score.
- Brant Mast had two of Spring Arbor's seven hits.
- Cassel struck out four over six innings of work.
