SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University women's soccer team defeated Lindsey Wilson College 3-0 in the final match of the Spring Arbor Bracket in the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round on Saturday.
The win sends the Cougars back to the national tournament final site in Foley, Alabama where the team will aim to capture its third national title in six years.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
- An early goal put Spring Arbor in the driver's seat. In the 14th minute, Becca Mindling served a long ball into the box and Mackenzie Selvius was there to head it past the Lindsey Wilson goalkeeper.
- After taking the 1-0 lead into halftime, the Cougars quickly doubled their lead in the opening moments of the second half. Lexi Ponstein was in the right place at the right time to put away a loose rebound after the initial shot from Lauren Marshall was saved.
- Spring Arbor put the game out of reach with its third goal in the 74th minute. Ponstein delivered a cross into the box to Alyvia Thorne, and Thorne's header went over the arms of the outstretched goalkeeper.
- Spring Arbor outshot Lindsey Wilson 23-8.
- Samantha Tracey registered five saves to help the Cougars post their 12th shutout of the season.
