SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University baseball team opened its four-game series against Huntington University with a split in Friday's doubleheader. The Cougars were edged 10-8 in game one before bouncing back with a 4-2 win in game two behind a dominant outing by starting pitcher
Gavin Harris.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Huntington scored four runs on five hits in the top of the first inning, but Spring Arbor responded with six unanswered runs over the first three innings – highlighted by a two-run home run by Landon Raczkowski – to take a 6-4 lead.
- The Foresters trailed 7-5 heading into the sixth inning where they would push three runs across to grab an 8-7 lead. The visitors added two more runs in the seventh and held on to take game one of the series.
- Glenn Miller and Ben Redfield led the Cougar offense with three hits apiece. Redfield also had two RBI's and two runs scored.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the first inning, Spring Arbor tallied a pair of runs in the home half of the first. Brant Mast scored on a single by Miller and Jackson Kitchen touched home on a sacrifice fly by Raczkowksi.
- Raczkowski lifted another sacrifice fly in the third to increase the lead to two, 4-2.
- That was all the run support Harris needed. The senior hurler shut down the Foresters' high-powered offense, allowing two runs on six hits over six innings of work while striking out four batters. Vincent Herschberger slammed the door shut in the seventh to earn the save.
- Miller collected three more hits at the plate along with two RBI's while Mast and Kitchen had two hits apiece.
