MARION, Ind. – With a pair of first half goals, the No. 6-seed Spring Arbor University men's soccer team defeated No. 3-seed Indiana Wesleyan University 3-1 on Saturday evening in the Crossroads League Tournament Quarterfinals.
With the win, the Cougars advance to the tournament semifinals where they will meet Grace College on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor got on the scoreboard in the 21st minute when Rood Schnaider beat the IWU goalkeeper with an assist from Abdulrahman Al-Rashed.
- The two linked up again just before halftime, only this time it was Al-Rashed finding the back of the net with an assist from Schnaider to give the Cougars a 2-0 advantage heading into halftime.
- Just over 10 minutes into the second half, Jeff Victoria made his mark on the match with a PK goal to all but seal the victory for SAU.
- Indiana Wesleyan's Gary Mills scored in the 84th minute to close the gap to two goals, but it would not be enough.
- Spring Arbor outshot IWU 9-7 on the night.
- Matt LeBlanc finished with two saves.

Spring Arbor travels to Winona Lake, Indiana to take on No. 2-seeded Grace on Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.
The winner advances to the Crossroads League Tournament Championship match on Saturday, Nov. 12 where they will meet either Bethel University or Huntington University.
