ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – For the third time in five years, Spring Arbor University is set to meet Keiser University (Fla.) in the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Semifinals.
The match is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. ET from the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Alabama.
Spring Arbor, ranked No. 4 in the Top 25 poll, reached the national semifinals for the seventh time in program history after defeating William Carey University (Miss.) 1-0 on Thursday.
Lexi Ponstein provided the game-winner, finding the back of the net in the seventh minute, while
Blair Currie was outstanding between the pipes making a season-best 11 saves.
Keiser, currently ranked No. 1 in the Top 25, is also making its seventh appearance in the semifinals following its 1-0 victory over Aquinas College in Thursday quarterfinal matchup.
Spring Arbor and Keiser have met twice before – both times in the national tournament semifinals. Keiser defeated SAU 3-1 in 2018 while the two sides battled to a 1-1 draw in 2020, but the Seahawks would advance past the Cougars in penalty kicks on the way to claiming their second straight national title.
