SPRING ARBOR, Mich. –
Gabe Newhof scored a season-high 34 points but a last-second bucket lifted Grace Christian University to a 77-75 win over the Spring Arbor University men's basketball team on Wednesday at the McDonald Athletic Center.
Newhof was 14-of-17 from the floor and 6-of-8 from the free throw line while also hauling in a season-best 16 rebounds to register his third straight double-double and his sixth double-double of the campaign.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- It was a tight, back-and-forth matchup from the opening whistle when Spring Arbor and Grace Christian faced off Wednesday evening. The game featured 16 lead changes and neither team ever led by more than seven points.
- Spring Arbor trailed by three, 74-71, with just over a minute to go in the second half before Kevyn Robertson scored in the paint – two of his 10 second half points – to get SAU within one.
- Following a free throw by Grace Christian, Austin Braun sank two clutch free throws to tie the score, 75-75, with only 28 seconds remaining. However, the visiting Tigers got a bucket from Bankeys Omari with less than a second left on the clock to escape with the win.
- The loss snapped a streak of seven straight wins over Grace Christian. The last time the Tigers had defeated SAU was in the 2014-15 season.
- Newhof finished with a season-high 34 points on 14-of-17 shooting and had a season-high 16 rebounds.
- Robertson followed with 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists while Braun added 10 points and five assists.
- Spring Arbor shot 50 percent from the floor and Grace Christian finished shooting 48 percent but knocked down nine 3-pointers. The Cougars held a 35-28 advantage in rebounds and outscored the Tigers 46-30 in the paint.
