SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University men's basketball team was able to battle through a furious comeback effort from Taylor University to take down the Trojans 67-66 Tuesday evening at the McDonald Athletic Center.
Trey Cottingham scored a season-high 14 points to lead the Cougars while
Kevyn Robertson added 12.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor scored the first eight points of the game and never surrendered the lead. Robertson made back-to-back layups to get things started, and Cottingham and Eli White added a bucket each to give SAU an early 8-0 advantage.
- The Cougars continued to push the margin and took a 38-19 lead into halftime.
- Spring Arbor extended its lead to 21 – the largest of the night – early in the second half, but Taylor began to slowly chip away at the deficit.
- Behind a barrage of 3-pointers, the Trojans – who connected on nine triples in the second half – got back in the game and closed the gap to one, 65-64, with less than two minutes remaining in the contest.
- Two clutch free throws from Austin Braun in the closing seconds helped clinch the Cougars' first conference win of the season.
- Cottingham finished with 14 points and Robertson followed with 12. Braun stuffed the stat sheet with nine points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals.
- Reigning Crossroads League Player of the Week Jason Hubbard posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds to pace the Trojans.
