KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Spring Arbor University softball team suffered a pair of losses Monday at THE Spring Games in Florida. The Cougars fell to Trinity Christian College 8-5 in the first game of the day before dropping a 3-1 decision to Cardinal Stritch University.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Trinity Christian held a 7-2 lead heading into the bottom of the third inning before Spring Arbor plated three runs to cut into the deficit. A double from Sarah Matlock drove in a pair of runs, and Matlock would later score on an RBI groundout by Elena Jones.
- Trinity Christian added an insurance run in the fifth inning and was able to hold off the Cougars over the final frames.
- Maddie Gillett was 3-for-4 with an RBI and run scored. Matlock had two hits, two RBI's and a run scored.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor trailed 1-0 after four innings, but fought back to tie the game in the fifth when Chloe Gignac scored on a base hit by Abbey Lafler.
- Cardinal Stritch retook the lead with two runs in the sixth inning.
- Matlock stayed red-hot at the plate picking up two more hits, including a double.
- Emmalee Hamp pitched six innings giving up three unearned runs and struck out nine batters.

Spring Arbor will face off against Bellevue University and Carlow University on Tuesday, Mar. 8. The Cougars play Bellevue at 9 a.m. and Carlow at 11:15 a.m.
