SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University men's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 loss against Rochester University on Saturday at the Cougar Soccer Complex.
After trailing most of the night, Spring Arbor found the equalizer when
Trevor Kacou scored with an assist from
Rood Schnaider in the 77th minute. However, Rochester came back with a go-ahead goal in the 85th minute to spoil SAU's home opener.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
- Rochester's Dmitar Stankovic opened the scoring when he beat Jack Crisitini with a header in the 23rd minute.
- Despite the score, Spring Arbor controlled the majority of play and created several dangerous chances, but goalkeeper Kris Tauzik and the Warrior defense were able to keep the Cougars off the scoreboard.
- The score remained 1-0 until the 77th minute when SAU was able to break through and level the match. Rochester was unable to clear a ball sent in by Aiden Avalos, and it fell to the feet of Schnaider. Schnaider then slipped a pass through three Warrior defenders to an open Kacou for an easy tap-in goal.
- Rochester responded, however, with a go-ahead goal at the 84:01 mark and held on to steal a road win.
- Spring Arbor outshot Rochester 17-3 and held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.
