SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University men's soccer team fell to Marian University 3-2 on Wednesday night at the Cougar Soccer Complex.
The Cougars fought back to tie the score 2-2 with a goal by
Matheus Cunha in the 81st minute, but Marian converted a penalty kick with just over a minute to go in the contest to steal the victory and snap SAU's three-game winning streak.

- Twice, Spring Arbor fell behind Marian, and twice the Cougars answered within just a few minutes.
- The Knights struck first with a goal in the 20th minute, but three minutes later Drew Lietz connected with Rood Schnaider to level the game at 1-1.
- The visitors grabbed the lead again in the 76th minute. However, Cunha netted his team-leading 10th goal of the season five minutes later to equalize.
- The match looked like it was heading for a draw until Marian was awarded a penalty kick with just over a minute remaining in the contest. Romaric Berneron converted the penalty and the Knights escaped with a 3-2 win.
- Spring Arbor finished the evening with 16 shots while Marian recorded 13.
