Indianapolis, IN - The Spring Arbor men's basketball team dropped a road matchup to the host Marian University Knights last night, losing by a score of 51-68.
 
Spring Arbor jumped out to an early lead, as they led 9-3 at the 16 minute mark. The Cougar offense quickly stifled from there, however, as the Knights quickly made a run of their own, going on on a 22-5 run to grab the lead back and push it to double figures, eventually leading to their 33-19 advantage at the break.
 
In the second half, the Cougars fought hard to keep the Knights lead at bay, but the steady Knights offense were able to extend their lead to nearly 20 points several times, and keep the game out of reach for the Cougars.

Game Starts:
- Spring Arbor was led in scoring by Gabe Newhof who scored 12 points and Eli White who scored 9 points.
- Freshman Ty Rykse scored 8 points off the bench for the Cougars, his new career high.
- Spring Arbor shot the ball to the tune of 50% from the field and 40% from distance, which are both very efficient splits. The difference, however, came in volume of shots, as the Knights shot lower overall percentages (41% / 31%), but took more shots than the Cougars.
- Spring Arbor's 51 total points is their lowest output in a game all season.
- The Cougars have now dropped six straight to the Knights, their last win dating back to 2020.
- Marian was led in scoring by Hayden Langkabel, who put up 19 points.
