SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University men's soccer team evened its Crossroads League record after defeating Mount Vernon Nazarene University 4-2 on a rain-soaked Wednesday evening at the Cougar Soccer Complex.
With the score tied, 2-2, midway through the second half, SAU got back-to-back goals from
Matheus Cunha and
Rood Schnaider in a four-minute span to grab the lead and roll to its first conference win of the season.
The Cougars improved to 6-2-3 overall and are now 1-1 in the Crossroads League.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor held a 2-0 lead at halftime after goals from Abdulrahman Al-Rashed and Jack Voight through the first 45 minutes.
- Mount Vernon Nazarene erased the deficit in the first 25 minutes of the second half and had all the momentum after equalizing in the 70th minute.
- The Cougars regained control of the match just 20 seconds later, however, with a goal from Cunha, assisted by Al-Rashed.
- Schnaider put the game away with another SAU goal just four minutes after Cunha's tally.
- Spring Arbor and MVNU logged 15 shots apiece.
- SAU goalkeeper Matt LeBlanc made five saves on the night.
