Men's Basketball comes up just short in upset attempt of No. 9 IWU

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – A bid to upset the No. 9 team in the country came up short on Wednesday evening as Indiana Wesleyan University escaped the McDonald Athletic Center with a 71-66 win over the Spring Arbor University men's basketball team.

After trailing by double-digits with less than four minutes remaining, the Cougars closed the gap to three with under a minute to play. However, IWU's Nathan Childress, who finished with 33 points, helped clinch the game for the Wildcats at the free throw line down the stretch.

Kevyn Robertson and Travis Grayson led the way for SAU with 18 and 17 points, respectively. Gabe Newhof, the reigning Crossroads League Player of the Week, added 13 points.
