FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The No. 13 ranked Spring Arbor University women's soccer team clinched a decisive 4-0 victory over the University of Saint Francis on Saturday in Fort Wayne. The Cougars displayed a strong first-half performance, leading 3-0 at the break, and maintained their momentum to seal the match with another goal in the second half.
Jocelyn Hendricks kicked off the scoring spree for Spring Arbor, netting the game's first tally with an assist from
Kayla Baar. This goal not only set the pace but also stood as the game-winning shot.
Annika Arsenault followed up with the second goal, assisted by
Lauren Marshall. The scoring continued with
Rachel Tanielian and
Lauren Marshall adding their names to the score sheet, with assists from
Jessie Postma,
Claire VanZanten, and
Maislin Joldersma.
Spring Arbor outshot Saint Francis 30-1 on the way to recording the seventh shutout of the season.
Looking ahead, Spring Arbor prepares to host No. 15 Indiana Wesleyan University on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at the Cougar Soccer Complex starting at 7 p.m. The winner will claim the Crossroads League regular season championship and be the No. 1-seed for the Crossroads League Tournament.
