SPRING ARBOR, MI. – The Spring Arbor Men's Basketball team hit the road to take on Madonna in their final contest before Christmas.  
 
Unfortunately, the early afternoon start caused the Cougars to come out flat, as Madonna raced out to a 16 point lead with 10 minutes to go, and extended that lead to 27 at the break, 48-21. Poor shooting from the Cougars was a major factor in their deficit, as they shot a paltry 31% from the floor, as well as only 23.1% from behind the arc in the half. On the flip side, Madonna shot 54.5% from the floor, and 45.5% from deep. 
 
The 2nd half was much better for Spring Arbor offensively, outscoring Madonna 44-39, and shooting a much improved 60% from the floor, but their halftime deficit was too much to overcome, as Madonna cruised to the 22 point victory, 87-65.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

• Leading the scoring for the Cougars was Travis Grayson with 13 points, along with 4 rebounds and 3 assists and a steal.  
• Joining Grayson in double figures were Gabe Newhof, Shane Rykse and Kevyn Robertson. Newhof and Rykse both had 12 points, with Rykse also having 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Robertson had 10 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, a block and a steal. 
• The leading scorer for Madonna was Ahmoni Weston, who had 21 points on 9 of 13 shooting.
