SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University baseball team dropped a pair of games to Indiana Wesleyan University at Hank Burbridge Field on Saturday.
The Cougars fell 8-2 in game one of the doubleheader and were edged out 3-2 in the night cap.
In between games, head coach
Ryan Marken and the Cougars honored their five seniors –

Ben Redfield,
Brennan Moran,
Joey McCowen and
Calvin Adams.
Spring Arbor finished the regular season with an overall record of 22-26 and seventh in the Crossroads League standings with a league record of 16-20.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Indiana Wesleyan hit four home runs, including a pair of three-run shots.
- Spring Arbor's runs also came via the long ball. Brennan Moran blasted his first career home run in the sixth inning and Jake Zeeb homered in the ninth.
- The Cougars finished with four hits, including two from Ryan Gonzalez.
- Colin Snyder gave up seven runs over four innings of work. Trammell Lindstrom allowed one run on three hits in five innings of relief.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Zeeb and Gonzalez gave Spring Arbor the early lead in game two with each delivering an RBI double in the first inning.
- Indiana Wesleyan cut the deficit in half with a solo home run in the second inning before a hitting a two-run shot in the fourth to grab the lead.
- The IWU pitching staff held the Cougar offense in check allowing just three hits.
- Redfield had one of the hits, scored a run and stole a base. The stolen base was the 88th of his career, which is tied for the most in program history.
- Josh Murphy surrendered three runs on four hits and struck out six. Joey McCowen tossed three scoreless innings and fanned two.
UP NEXT
The Crossroads League Tournament is set to begin on Wednesday, May 1 at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. Spring Arbor will be the No. 7 seed in the tournament and will meet the No. 6 seed in one of two play-in games on Wednesday.
The winners of the two play-in games will advance to join a six-team double elimination bracket starting on Thursday, May 2.
