WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University softball team continued its winning ways on Saturday, earning two more victories in a doubleheader sweep of Grace College.
The Cougars defeated the Lancers 8-1 in game one and 6-3 in game two.
Spring Arbor has now won seven straight games and improved its overall record to 22-11 with a 14-6 mark in Crossroads League play.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor started hot, scoring three runs in the first inning on RBI hits by Summer Ambler and Maddy Thrush.
- The Cougars kept it rolling with five more runs in the third to put the game out of reach.
- Five SAU players had multiple hits, including Ambler, who had an RBI and scored twice.
- Emmalee Hamp was outstanding in the circle. The senior pitcher allowed just one run over five innings of work and struck out five batters. Tammy Craven pitched two innings of scoreless relief.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Run-scoring doubles by Ambler and Thrush highlighted a four-run third inning.
- Grace cut the deficit to one, 4-3, after pushing three runs across in the home half of the third.
- Spring Arbor added insurance runs in the fifth and sixth innings.
- Amber finished with three RBIs and Tiffany Keller collected a pair of hits.
- Elena Jones gave up three unearned runs and struck out three in the complete game victory.
