SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 3 ranked Spring Arbor University women's soccer team opened the season against No. 22 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in front a packed crowd at the Cougar Soccer Complex on Saturday night.
After a scoreless first half, Spring Arbor nearly took the lead in the early moments of the second stanza but a shot by freshman
Kayla Baar hit off the post. Just over a minute later, a defensive miscue by the Cougars resulted in an own goal giving Embry-Riddle the lead, and the Eagles would hold on for the 1-0 victory.
