MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University women's basketball team outscored Bethel University 41-23 over the final two quarters to earn a 75-53 Crossroads League victory over the Pilots on Wednesday evening.
Four Cougars scored in double figures, including the reigning Crossroads League Offensive Player of the Week
Alana Nelson, who finished with a game-high 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting.
The win is the second straight, and the third in the last four games, for the Cougars, who improved to 12-6 overall and 5-3 in league play.

GAME NOTES
- Alana Nelson scored 13 of her game-high 19 points in the first quarter, but Bethel was able to keep pace and only trailed by one after the first 10 minutes, 21-20.
- Sydney Aunins and Megan Zeitz carried the Spring Arbor offense in the second quarter, scoring nine of the team's 13 points in the period, and the Cougars would go into the locker room with a 34-30 advantage.
- Out of the break, Spring Arbor went on a 15-2 run to break things wide open. The Cougars forced the Pilots into nine turnovers in the third quarter while Alayna Kulesza fueled the charge with nine points.
- Along with Nelson, Sydney Aunins, Kulesza and Zeitz reached double-digits. Aunins finished with 16, Kulesza had 11 and Zeitz added 10.
- Spring Arbor shot 52 percent on the night while holding Bethel to 36 percent from the field. The Cougars forced the Pilots into 22 turnovers and converted those takeaways into 27 points.
