GAME NOTES
- Like in the matchup in Indianapolis earlier this season, Marian jumped out to an early lead, 19-8, but Alana Nelson would bring the Cougars back. Nelson fueled a 14-2 run, scoring 10 of those 14 points, to give SAU its first lead of the game, 22-21, at the 5:02 mark of the second quarter.
- The Knights had an answer, however, and ended the half on a scoring spurt of their own to take a 34-26 advantage into halftime.
- Spring Arbor stayed within striking distance for most of the third quarter, but six SAU turnovers in the period allowed the Knights to widen the margin and begin to pull away.
- Nelson tallied 19 points and six rebounds. Sydney Aunins had nine points and Megan Zeitz finished with six points and a team-high eight rebounds.
- Marian shot 52 percent from the field while holding SAU to a season-low 27 percent.
