UPLAND, Ind. – Spring Arbor University continued its winning ways on Saturday, defeating Taylor University 2-1 on the road in Crossroads League action.
The Cougars tallied two in the first half and held off a second-half push from the Trojans to secure their second straight win.

MATCH SUMMARY
- Spring Arbor struck early when a Taylor own goal in the 11th minute put the visitors ahead 1-0. David Magalhaes flicked a corner kick from Ian Lama into the box and the ball redirected off a Trojan defender into the goal.
- The Cougars doubled their advantage in the 29th minute as Alex Murphy netted his fourth goal of the season. Lama had an initial shot that was turned away by the Taylor goalkeeper, but the rebound went straight to Murphy for the easy finish.
- Taylor cut the deficit in half in the 67th minute, but the Cougars' back line and goalkeeper Jack Cristini held firm the rest of the way. Cristini made three saves to preserve the win.
- Spring Arbor outshot Taylor 14-13 and earned its second consecutive victory in league play.
