Women’s Soccer climbs to No. 20 in national rankings

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Spring Arbor University climbed one spot to No. 20 in the final regular season edition of the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll, released by the national office on Wednesday.
 
Spring Arbor wrapped up the regular season with a 3-0 victory over Goshen College, and finished fourth in the Crossroads League standings.
 
The Cougars advanced past No. 17 Taylor University on penalty kicks in the quarterfinal round of the Crossroads League Tournament but was edged 1-0 in the semifinals by the regular season champions, and No. 2 ranked, Marian University.
 
The Cougars are one of five Crossroads League teams in the latest poll. Joining SAU is No. 2 Marian, No. 8 Indiana Wesleyan University, No. 14 Grace College and No. 17 Taylor.
 
Karly Miller leads the team with eight goals while Claire VanZanten has six tallies. Isa Martinez has three goals and a team-high four assists.
 
Spring Arbor (9-4-6) will await a possible at-large berth to the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship when the tournament field is announced on Friday, Nov. 14.
