Men’s Soccer advances to CL Tournament Semis after win at Saint Francis

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University men's soccer team is moving on in the Crossroads League Tournament after a 1-0 road win over the University of Saint Francis in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday night.
 
Leo Stravato delivered the what proved to be the game-winner in the 57th minute, and Jack Cristini and the defense held on for the team's eighth shutout of the season.
 
The Cougars advance to face the regular season champions, Bethel University, in the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 7.

MATCH SUMMARY
  • After a scoreless first half, Leo Stravato broke through in the 57th minute with an assist from Caleb Swartzendruber. It was a perfect time for Stravato's first career goal, coming when the Cougars needed it most in postseason play.
  • On the other end of the field, goalkeeper Jack Cristini recorded his eighth shutout of the year, making five saves, including several key stops in the second half to preserve the lead.

The winner will play in the Crossroads League Tournament Championship on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
