BRADENTON, Fla. – The Spring Arbor University men's basketball team seized control with a decisive second-half run, defeating New College of Florida 92–73 Tuesday night.
The Cougars held a 43-37 lead at halftime, but the Mighty Banyans opened the second half with a quick surge, briefly taking a 50-49 advantage at the 16:00 mark. SAU answered immediately, ripping off a decisive 14–2 run to regain control. From there, the Cougars maintained momentum and pulled away down the stretch.
Reigning Crossroads League Offensive Player of the Week
Travis Grayson led the charge, matching his season-high with 31 points while also dishing out five assists.
Dante Favor and
Brandon Trilli added 12 points apiece, and
Ty Rykse contributed 11 points to round out the balanced effort.
Spring Arbor was efficient offensively throughout the night, shooting a season-best 59 percent (40-for-68) from the field.
The Cougars (7-5) will continue their Florida swing on Thursday, Dec. 18, traveling to face No. 8 ranked Ave Maria University (12-1) starting at 5 p.m.
