RIO GRANDE, Ohio –
Megan Zeitz delivered a career-high performance as Spring Arbor earned an 88–72 victory over Coastal Georgia on Monday at the Woods Lumber Classic, hosted by the University of Rio Grande.
It is the sixth straight win for head coach
John Williams and the Cougars, who now stand at 12-1 on the season.
Zeitz led the way with a career-best 25 points while also pulling down nine rebounds.
Ashley Weller added 13 points, and
Alayna Kulesza finished with 11.
Haven Chapman narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.
The Cougars led 30–24 after the first quarter, closing the period on a 9–0 run, and carried a 50–40 advantage into halftime. Spring Arbor maintained a comfortable margin throughout the second half to secure the win.
Spring Arbor shot 50 percent from the field and limited Coastal Georgia to 30 percent shooting. The Cougars outscored the Mariners 48–24 in the paint and controlled the glass with a 59–34 rebounding advantage.
It's a quick turnaround for the Cougars, who return to action tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 30, to face No. 8 Rio Grande (11-1) starting at 2 p.m.
