SPRING ARBOR, MI. – The Spring Arbor men's basketball team traveled to Winona Lake, Indiana on Saturday to take on the 12th-ranked Grace Lancers. The Cougars were looking to notch another top-15 upset against the Lancers this season, after defeating Grace in December, while they were 14
th in the nation.
The first half began with the two teams trading jabs, ending up in a 16-16 deadlock after the 10-minute media timeout. From there, Grace went on a 20-10 run, taking a 36-26 lead into the final media timeout of the half. Grace would keep a comfortable distance to finish out, and took a 44-34 margin into the break.
Gabe Newhof,
Shane Rykse, and
Kevyn Robertson led the offense for the Cougars in the half, with Newhof heading the charge with 7 points, and Rykse and Robertson both adding 6 points.
The two teams traded baskets to begin the second half, with Grace keeping a 10-point lead, before ripping off a quick 11-3 run to extend their lead to 18 points at 62-44 with under 10 minutes to go. From there, Spring Arbor was unable to muster any sort of significant run, and Grace cruised to a 90-76 victory. Grace's Ian Scott was the catalyst for the Lancer second half, scoring 26 of his 29 points in the half, shooting 10-10 from the field.
Kevyn Robertson led the scoring for Spring Arbor with 12 points in the period, and
Travis Grayson added 8 points.

- Joining Robertson in double figures were Gabe Newhof, Shane Rykse, and Travis Grayson, who all had 13 points apiece. Newhof added 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and a block, Ryske chipped in 4 rebounds, and was 4 of 6 from the field, including 3 of 4 from behind the arc, while Grayson recorded 3 assists, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals.
- Dante Favor also played a big role with 9 points, 7 rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
- Grace was led offensively by Ian Scott who was lights out from the field, pouring in 29 points on 11-13 shooting, along with 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
