MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Spring Arbor University softball team kicked off its Spring Break trip with an extra-inning win on Friday, defeating Siena Heights University 2-1 in eight innings at the USSSA Space Coast Complex.
Later in the afternoon, the Cougars faced off against Keiser University and fell 2-1 in walk-off fashion.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- The game was scoreless through the first three innings, but Siena Heights broke the deadlock with a run in the top of the fourth.
- Spring Arbor still trailed 1-0 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. After two outs to start the frame, Taylor Clark came through with a single followed by a clutch triple by Matajia Cerroni to tie the score and force extra innings.
- In the eighth, Nicole Barbeau drove in the game-winning run with a sacrifice fly.
- Tammy Craven got the win in the circle after pitching four scoreless innings of relief. Ava Poulson also worked four innings allowing one run on three hits while striking out five batters.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Keiser scored an unearned run in the first inning and made that 1-0 lead stand until the seventh.
- Down to their last three outs, Spring Arbor got the seventh inning started with a double by Brooke Meeker. Following a base hit by Payton Grange, Meeker was able to score on a wild throw by the Keiser catcher to tie the score, 1-1.
- With two outs and a runner on first base in the bottom of the seventh, Keiser recorded two straight hits to bring home the game-winning run.
- Emilee Underwood, the reigning Crossroads League Pitcher of the Week, went all seven innings for SAU. The left-hander surrendering just the two unearned runs and scattered seven hits while striking out four batters.
