Women’s Basketball wins at Taylor

UPLAND, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University women's basketball team went on the road and defeated Taylor University 77-62 on Saturday.
 
Alana Nelson and Megan Zeitz combined for 40 points to lead the way for the Cougars.
 
Spring Arbor completed the season sweep of the Trojans and improved to 16-8 overall. The Cougars are currently fourth in the Crossroads League standings with a 9-5 mark in the conference play.

GAME NOTES
  • Spring Arbor was outscored 16-11 in the first quarter, but the Cougars opened the second period on a 16-2 run to take the lead and would never look back.
  • Alana Nelson finished with a game-high 22 points while grabbing seven rebounds. Megan Zeitz followed with 18 points. Sydney Aunins added nine points and Alayna Kulesza recorded eight points and nine boards.
  • Spring Arbor shot 47 percent on the afternoon and held Taylor to 41 percent. The Cougars also forced the Trojans into 19 turnovers, which they converted into 26 points.

Spring Arbor will host Goshen College (10-13, 4-10 CL) on Wednesday, Feb. 12 starting at 7 p.m. from the McDonald Athletic Center.
