SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University softball team opened Crossroads League play at home against No. 18 Indiana Wesleyan University on Tuesday.
Spring Arbor fell 7-0 in game one of the doubleheader and dropped game two 14-2.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- Indiana Wesleyan led 3-0 after five innings before plating four runs in the sixth.
- Matajia Cerroni collected the only hit for the Cougars.
- Emilee Underwood pitched all seven innings allowing seven runs on eight hits and struck out five batters.
GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor jumped on top with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Cerroni scored on a double by Summer Ambler, and Ambler came around to score on a hit by Payton Grange.
- Indiana Wesleyan got a run back in the second inning. Then, IWU took the lead with four runs in the fourth. The Wildcats put the game out of reach with nine runs in the fifth inning.
- Brooke Meeker was 2-for-3 at the plate and Ambler had a double, an RBI and a run scored.
- Ava Poulson suffered her first loss of the season in the circle. The freshman pitcher surrendered five runs on five hits in four innings of work.
