SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Spring Arbor University saw its season come to end Friday night after falling 65-61 to No. 5 Briar Cliff University in a hard-fought battle in the first round of the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship.
The Cougars trailed by as many as 23 in the first half, but clawed their way back to get within two in the final seconds. However, Briar Cliff was able to clinch the win at the free throw line down the stretch.
It was the second straight season head coach
John Williams and his squad made the national tournament. Spring Arbor finished the year with a 19-12 record.
