SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – A pair from the Spring Arbor University women's basketball team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
The CSC recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletics and in the classroom. Earning the distinction from SAU were
Sydney Aunins and
Alayna Kulesza.
Aunins, a senior social work major, claimed her first All-Crossroads League honor after an outstanding senior campaign. The Milan, Michigan native started all 31 games and posted career-highs in nearly every statistical category. She averaged 8.4 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
Kulesza, a communications major, helped guide SAU to its second consecutive trip to the NAIA national tournament. The junior from West Chicago, Illinois averaged a career-best 8.1 points per game with 3.9 rebounds per contest while also recording career-highs in steals (65) and blocks (9).
Players nominated for the CSC All-District Team were starters or key reserves with cumulative grade point averages of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Each nominated student-athlete was at their current college or university for at least one academic year.
