JACKSON, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University bowling teams continued their strong start to the 2025-26 season at the WHAC Open on Saturday with the women's team capturing its second straight tournament title and the men's team securing a fifth place finish.
The Cougar women dominated the 12-team field, finishing first overall for the second consecutive weekend. Leading the charge was
Kayla Tafanelli, who claimed the individual title with a standout performance. Tafanelli collected 664 pins, averaging 221 pins per game, to pace the field of more than 150 bowlers.
On the men's side, Spring Arbor battled through a competitive field of 12 teams to take fifth place overall.
Connor Rogus finished runner-up in the field with 686 total pins – just nine pins off the winner. Rogus rolled games of 246, 225 and 215.
Spring Arbor will return to the lanes on Nov. 14-15 at the NAIA Invitational in Topeka, Kansas.
