Box Score SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 21 ranked Spring Arbor University women's basketball team delivered a decisive 83-61 win over Taylor University, which was receiving votes in the national poll, on Wednesday night inside the McDonald Athletic Center.
The Cougars improved to 16-2 overall and remained tied for first place in the Crossroads League standings with a 7-1 conference record.
Spring Arbor controlled the game from the opening quarter, building a 23-13 lead after one and carrying a 40-31 advantage into halftime. The Cougars put the game out of reach early in the second half, opening the third quarter on a 10-0 run and eventually pushing the lead to as many as 27 points in the fourth quarter.
Four Cougars scored in double figures led by
Megan Zeitz with 14 points.
Alayna Kulesza added 13,
Haven Chapman finished with 11 while also adding seven rebounds, and
Ashley Weller chipped in 10.
Spring Arbor shot 51 percent from the field and forced Taylor into 25 turnovers, converting those into 28 points.
