MARION, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University men's basketball team came up just short on the road Saturday afternoon, falling 77-71 to No. 10 ranked Indiana Wesleyan University.
The Cougars faced a 14-point deficit in the second half but mounted a strong comeback, erasing the gap and taking a 64-61 lead with 4:32 remaining. Indiana Wesleyan responded with an 8-0 run, however, to regain control and was able to hold on down the stretch to avoid the upset.
Travis Grayson led Spring Arbor with 17 points.
Brandon Trilli and
Dante Favor each finished with 12 points with Favor adding five assists and Trilli pulling down six rebounds.
Aden Zank also reached double figures, scoring 11 points and grabbing five rebounds.
Spring Arbor (8-7, 1-4 CL) returns home to host No. 7 Bethel University (14-1, 4-1 CL) on Wednesday, Jan. 7. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
