UPLAND, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University men's basketball team dropped a 76-65 decision at Taylor University on Wednesday night.
With the setback, the Cougars move to 13-14 overall and 6-11 in league play.
The contest was tight throughout much of the evening, featuring 11 lead changes in the first 24 minutes of action. Spring Arbor held a 47-45 advantage at the 16:00 mark of the second half before Taylor used a decisive 14-0 run over a six-minute stretch to seize control. The Cougars were unable to regain the momentum as the Trojans were able to maintain their cushion down the stretch.
Travis Grayson led SAU with 19 points and seven rebounds while
Dante Favor added 15 points and seven boards.
Shane Rykse contributed 11 points and
Brandon Trilli chipped in 10.
Spring Arbor will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 21 with a matchup against the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
