Cougars Earn 5-2 Win Over Ohio Northern

LIMA, Ohio – The Spring Arbor University men's tennis team earned a 5-2 victory over Ohio Northern University on Saturday in non-conference action at Westwood Tennis Center.
 
With the win, the Cougars improve to 7-6 overall on the season.
 
Spring Arbor set the tone by sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the early advantage. Aziz Madatov and Andrei Negrut led the way with a 6-2 win at No. 1 while Jaume Riera Galindo and Daniel Rodriguez Fortes followed with a 6-4 victory at No. 2. Caleb Kaytar and MacKinley McNalley completed the sweep with a 6-3 win at No. 3.
 
In singles play, the Cougars claimed four of six matches to secure the team victory. Madatov earned a straight-set win at No. 1, while Riera Galindo battled through a three-set thriller at No. 2. Rodriguez Fortes added a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 3, and Miguel Carvalho closed out the scoring with a straight-set win at No. 5.
